SMS welcome system is a very efficient tool for mobile operators to provide a range of services both for subscribers when they are in roaming in foreign networks and for foreign subscribers registered in the network of the mobile operator. “Welcome SMS” and “Bon Voyage SMS” services allow subscribers receiving the information about that network where subscriber got registered now, price information for main services in the network, information about the country etc. The Service implementation would favorably distinguish mobile operator at the telecom market and increase both loyalty of subscribers and roamers. The system supports flexible delivery scenario, dynamic content delivery, SMS language management depending on the home country of the visitor, network and subscriber black lists, interconnecting with SMSC via SMPP v.3.4 protocol.
Roaming assistant is a great tool for intelligent correcting dialing errors of the visitors, that are registered in the Operator’s network, that allows the travelers continue using their familiar short codes for home-based VAS while roaming (for example, voicemail, customer care, directory assistance, etc. ). Roamers can continue using their familiar short codes instead of some international numbers and duration of the authentication sessions, just like at home. Networks supporting CAMEL can deploy this service for outbound roamers addressing this key growth sector.
The Roaming Optimization Platform is ideal not only for optimizing inter-operator cooperation on the level of alliances, but also for resolving the challenges faced by MVNOs and small operators. For the first group, the Roaming Optimization Platform allows powerful and flexible network selection management to stimulate ‘right’ roaming network choice for subscribers from networks working in the alliance (Steering of Roaming concept). The roaming brokerage concept is aimed at the needs of the second group of operators. This mechanism allows such companies to gain access to all the roaming partners of a major operator, just by making one agreement with that operator. For the large operator, the Gateway provides a source of extra income from providing roaming brokerage services. Also deployment of the Roaming Optimization Platform allows to solve wide range of compatibility problems related to different MAP and/or CAMEL phases supported by the networks.
Roaming Optimization Platform solves the following tasks:
- Network selection management for outbound roamers (Traffic Redirection/Steering-of-Roaming)
- Inbound Roaming Optimization Solutions
- Gateway Location Register (GLR)
- Subscriber’s profile management
Dual-IMSI roaming is intended to expand roaming geography for small and/or independent mobile operators (named Roaming Clients) by using roaming agreements and subscription of well-established mobile operators (sometime named Donors or Roaming Brokers). To use dual-IMSI roaming each Operator’s subscriber (outbound roamer) shall have two subscriptions on his SIM-card. One should be from his home Operator and another one - from the Donor. Special applet manages this subscriptions thus in the home network subscriber is always registering using home subscription, in all foreign networks - using Donor's subscription. Dual-IMSI roaming platform implements all required functionality related to signaling processing and conversion to enable seamless Dual- and Multi-IMSI roaming.
This solution gives to the Operator the unique innovative functionality: providing local number for long-term business roamers that can be used for accepting incoming calls without necessity to purchase separate local account, and saving activity of the main number. Roamers with local number save the costs of expensive incoming calls and get more closely to their business partners because of the “presence effect” (no need to dial international number from the country where the subscriber currently resides). Operator can use this solution to increase its revenue by deploying new attractive services for inbound roamers and saving traffic in the network.
